HPL, solid wood, and natural stone
Three materials are especially popular for kitchen countertops, each with its own strengths.
HPL compact panels, such as Max Compact, are made from resin-saturated kraft paper fused under high heat and pressure. They are scratch-resistant, heat-resistant, solvent-resistant, and easy to maintain. Their sealed surface does not absorb liquids.
Solid woods such as oak, beech, or walnut bring natural warmth to the kitchen. However, wood countertops require regular care and should be oiled every few months. Moisture and hot pots can leave marks, and scratches and stains tend to show quickly.
