The topic of sustainable building with biogenic building materials is increasingly coming to the fore. Sustainability and the complex interaction of design and ecological use of resources for planning living spaces demand healthy materials. The Funderplan biofibre board was developed especially for a healthy living environment with an optimal indoor climate.

Our high-density wood fibre board Funderplan is manufactured using our special production process from fresh fibre wood sourced from certified sustainable forestry. By activating natural resins, we create an authentic natural product – this is what makes our Funderplan so unique.

Thus, Funderplan creates extraordinarily good living space quality and thus has a positive effect on comfort as well as hygiene and on the health of residents and users. The indoor climate becomes an experience. Funderplan demonstrably guarantees living and working without exposure to unnatural emissions, even in projects for children and elderly or particularly health-sensitive people. For our planet: Sustainable and resource-saving

• Resource-saving: Only fresh fibre wood or sawmill by-products from sustainably certified, regional forestry are used for Funderplan. Fresh fibre wood is low-quality wood from forest thinning. We turn it into a high-quality, statically load-bearing product.
• Sustainable: The life cycle assessment of raw material supply, transport and production confirms our GreenHouseWarming Potential of -1,370 kg CO₂/m³. We are proud of our contribution to combating global warming.**
• 100% green energy: The energy required for biofibre production comes from 100% certified renewable sources.***

The European association natureplus e.V. promotes a holistic sustainability approach to building products, focussing on the use of resources, climate protection and healthy living. As we spend around 90% of our time indoors, building products have a significant impact on our health. Natureplus e.V. guarantees high quality through regular tests with external testing institutes and on-site assessments, thus offering guidance and safety for healthy living. We are proud that Funderplan has been awarded the 0208-1304-120-1 seal of approval.

The Institute for Quality Management and Environmental Hygiene (IQUH) analyses the ingredients of building products and their influence on indoor climate, air quality and healthy living. Funderplan was tested with regard to the raw materials and the complete labelling of all ingredients. The result is more than pleasing: Funderplan is terpene-free and has a low quality, environmental and human compatibility factor of 2.22. The lower the factor, the more positive the effects on indoor air and indoor climate.

The Sentinel Holding Institute (SHI) promotes sustainable and pollutant-tested construction. It has developed the SHI database, a central platform that serves as a practical tool for all construction partners worldwide, such as manufacturers, architects, planners, general contractors, auditors, construction companies, fabricators and tradespeople. The SHI product passport facilitates material research and the documentation of product qualities for building certifications such as DGNB, QNG, BNB, BREEAM or the EU taxonomy.

Products with the QNG-ready seal of the Sentinel Holding Institute are ideal for projects aiming for the Quality Seal for Sustainable Buildings (QNG). In addition, the KfW funding programme for climate-friendly new buildings with QNG can provide a higher funding amount.

The CE marking guarantees that the construction product complies with the performance characteristics stated in the declaration of performance and fulfils all requirements of the Construction Products Regulation and other EU harmonisation regulations.

In individual cases, CE-marked products are also used outside the area of application defined in the harmonised standard. In these cases, the products must also fulfil the specific national regulations.

PEFC is an international forest certification system that is committed to the protection of forests at a global and local level. Certification with the PEFC seal promotes sustainable forest management. The aim is to utilise the diverse products of the forests and at the same time ensure that these forests are preserved for future generations.

The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC®) is an international non-profit organisation and a leader in the certification of sustainable forest management. Numerous NGOs, companies and consumers around the world trust the FCS® label to protect healthy and resilient forests in the long term.

On dataholz.eu you will find detailed information on building-physically and ecologically tested wall constructions with Funderplan Biofaser. Exterior and interior walls have been tested for fire protection, sound insulation, airtightness and ecology.
