Fundermax Biofiber
The biofiber board is made of 100% certified wood.
A special feature of the biofibre manufacturing process is the wet fibre process. During this process, the wood's natural resins are dissolved and subsequently serve as a binding agent within the biofibre board. As a result, no additional petrochemical binders are required.
Furthermore, the energy required for board production is derived exclusively from biogenic fuels.
Applications and Areas of Use

Important Information about Fundermax Biofibre Board
The biofibre board is an untreated hardboard with an unsealed top surface for interior applications. Its formaldehyde content corresponds to that of natural wood.
The fresh wood used for production comes exclusively from regional forestry sources. According to the life cycle assessment (LCA), the storage of biogenic carbon contributes to a negative Global Warming Potential (GWP) of −1.370 kg CO₂ equivalent per m³ (GWP database: EPD-FMX-20240368-IPA1-DE).
We are proud of our positive contribution to decarbonisation, made possible by eliminating the need for petroleum-based adhesives.
Thanks to the wet fibre process and the use of the wood's natural resins as a binder, the biofibre board offers the following key benefits:
- Excellent paintability
- Improved punchability and machinability
- Very good mechanical strength
- Water resistance even at higher levels of humidity due to its density
- Flatness due to perfect equilibrium moisture content
- 3D formability due to the panel’s elastic properties resulting from the manufacturing process
Formats
The biofibre board is available in a master sheet format of 5,640 × 2,150 mm and can be cut to any required size. Standard thicknesses range from 1.6 mm to 8.0 mm, with thicknesses up to 12.0 mm available on request.
Notes
- Rough-cut panels, sanding services, special formats, and custom thicknesses are available on request.
- Disposal must be carried out in accordance with the applicable national regulations for wood-based materials.
