Laminated particle boards: characteristics and surfaces

A laminated particle board has a decorative top layer applied to the engineered-wood core. Fundermax offers numerous surface options, including: FH Fine Hammered, MT Matt, SG High Gloss, NI Nice, NA Natura, SU Structura, GA Grafica, LI Lignum, TE Texta, RM Real Matt and PM Pore Matt. This makes it possible to match each finish with the right surface effect, from silky matt to high gloss.

Decorative particle boards: finishes and colours

Fundermax decorative particle boards come in a wide range of options for virtually every interior design concept. The portfolio includes more than 37 oak finishes, ranging from light natural oak to warm shades such as Cognac Oak. The extensive white palette features Arctic White, Snow White, Sanitary White and Ceramic White, as well as Winter White, Glacier White, Lilac White and Pastel White. Bold colours such as Signal Red, Ruby Red, Fir Green, Gentian Blue and Petrol Green add further variety.

For urban and industrial interiors, Fundermax also offers concrete-look finishes with surfaces such as GA Grafica and SG High Gloss. Many finishes are available with several surface options, making it easy to create a consistent design throughout the entire interior and exterior.

Decorative particle boards: thicknesses, formats and classifications

Decorative particle boards are available in several thicknesses for applications such as furniture fronts, carcasses and wall cladding. Depending on the classification, Star Favorit panels are available in a format of 2800 x 2070, with thicknesses ranging from 8 to 19 millimetres as well as 30 millimetres.

The boards come in several standardised classifications: P2 for dry areas in furniture manufacturing and interior finishing, and P2 B (formerly B1) as a flame-retardant version. P3 is suitable for non-load-bearing applications in damp areas, while P5 is designed for load-bearing applications. The E05 classification identifies the low-emission version.
